Team Florida Current (Tampa Bay) is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers families the opportunity to participate in amateur sports programs. We aim to provide a safe environment for youth and volunteers to learn the game of basketball by creating a positive setting where players can learn, grow, and gain exposure.
History of Coach Mo
Team Florida Current is a recreational-based program formed by owner Malcolm Bell(Coach Mo). Coach Mo is a former collegiate athlete, starting his years at Coastal Alabama (Jefferson Davis) in Brewton, AL under coach Allen Gainer. Then finishing his college career at Florida College in Tampa, FL under Coach Jim Romkey and Allen Todd.
The Focus
The program focuses on teaching and developing basic fundamental skill and offers kids a higher level of competition. Player development is stressed inside the framework of a structured and disciplined system, and team-oriented play. Practice time and advanced training are provided to enhance the skills of each player with the goal and vision of having players ready to play at the college level.
